The perfect months to visit the Island of Elba are June and September, a period in which it is possible to fully enjoy the island, exploring it and diversifying your activities.
I usually advise against the period from the second half of July to the end of August, because Elba, having limited dimensions and spaces, when too crowded, unfortunately - in certain places and circumstances - loses part of its charm.
Other periods that I personally love very much on the island and that I recommend, based on needs, are the spring (April and May) and thefall (from the second half of September to late October).
If, however, July and August are the only months in which you can plan your visit to the island, I suggest you carefully read the advice you find below 🙂

If you are thinking of visiting Elba in high season, I advise you to organize yourself in time and book what you want to enjoy once you arrive, for ensure you have a top experience! Furthermore, by booking in advance, you can take advantage of various discounts depending on what you are going to reserve.
I suggest book in advance the accommodation, the ferry ticket (if you have a vehicle with you), lo scooter/rental bikes, le boat excursions, the rental of dinghy, book dinners in advance restaurants most popular, umbrella and sunbed at the beach establishments. For the latter, you can find some contacts in the section relating to beaches best on the Island of Elba. Furthermore, some establishments can also be booked directly from the App Elba Beaches.
To be able to explore the island and, in general, enjoy it to the fullest, you will definitely need a means of transport. Whether it is a car, motorbike, scooter or bicycle (mountain-bike or e-bike), you can consider them both as a means of reaching Elba and as vehicles that you can rent directly on the island. Elba lends itself very well to being explored on two wheels.
This choice proves particularly providential in the high season months (July and, above all, August). The use of scooter will allow you to avoid the nightmare of parking (which is rarely present on the island) and the annoying queues that inevitably form near the beaches (during the day) and the villages (in the evening), due to the limited number of roads that run along the Elba.
