How to get around the Island of Elba 🛵

Elba is a medium-sized island, to do a complete tour of the island by car a day will be enough, but to explore it better and enjoy the beaches and the various villages, I suggest dedicating at least a week to it, preferably not in August. If, however, you can only move in that period, in the section How to experience the island to the fullest I'll leave you some ad hoc suggestions 😉

In any case, to be able to explore the island and, in general, enjoy it to the fullest, you will definitely need a means of transport. Whether it is a car, motorbike, scooter or bicycle (mountain-bike or e-bike) you can consider them both as a means of reaching Elba and as vehicles that you can rent directly on the island (srun the article to see the list of the main rentals on the island).

Elba lends itself very well to being explored on two wheels. This choice proves particularly providential in the high season months (July and, above all, August).
The use of scooter will allow you to avoid the nightmare of parking (which is rarely present on the island) and the annoying queues that inevitably form near the beaches (during the day) and the villages (in the evening), due to the limited number of roads that run along the Elba.

In addition to these more practical aspects, in general, I really recommend getting around on two wheels because it will allow you one total immersion in nature of the Island, to savor its perfumes of the Mediterranean scrub and to enjoy it to the fullest panoramas over the sea along the roads on the cliffs.
